Duralyst OS-300
Description
Duralyst OS-300 is a high surface area, iron oxide promoted activated alumina catalyst used to scavenge oxygen in Claus reactors.
Application
Duralyst OS-300 serves as a top-layer catalyst in Claus converters, effectively reacting with oxygen to prevent sulfation of alumina catalyst. Oxygen reacting with SO2 on the catalyst surface to form sulfate is a major cause of catalytic activity loss.
This specially promoted catalyst is particularly effective in mitigating sulfate formation on activated alumina in converters where oxygen infiltration poses a challenge.
