High Temperature and High Humidity – Rust and Water Accumulation Inspection for Air Compressor Systems

During periods of high temperature and high humidity, carbon steel pipelines, air receivers, and other components in air compressor systems are prone to rust due to accumulated condensate. Rust particles may clog drainage components, which can trigger a chain of equipment failures:

1. Poor drainage → Water level in air receiver exceeds outlet → Water enters the dryer
2. Adsorbent becomes damp and powders → Drying efficiency decreases, even causing “mud” discharge → Equipment fails to operate normally

JOOZEO’s Reminder: Key Points for Air Compressor System Maintenance in Hot Seasons
1. Regularly inspect drainage components:
• Check daily whether the drain valves on air receivers and pipelines are clear to prevent clogging by rust debris.
• Recommend using stainless steel or anti-corrosion coated parts to reduce rust risk.
2. Strictly prevent water ingress into the dryer:
• Remove accumulated water in the air receiver immediately to avoid backflow into the dryer.
• If the adsorbent has become damp and powdered (indicated by a rising dew point and powder in the outlet gas), replace the adsorbent promptly to restore drying performance.
3. Upgrade to intelligent monitoring:
• Install a liquid level sensor or automatic drain to monitor water accumulation in real time and prevent potential issues.

Prevention is better than repair!
During hot and humid seasons, strengthen inspections of your air compressor system to ensure smooth drainage and dry adsorbents.
